Kevin Sandbloom returns to Neo-Soul and he has a song for you.

Every Thursday South Flavas presents Neo-Soul Lounge and Poetry Reading at Club Illusions. Club Illusion is located 2700 Pecan Street W. in Pflugerville (1825 W and Central Commerce).Acts can include anything from spoken word to singing and monologues, with neo-soul music sliced in between. Sign up start at 8 pm and is open to anyone.

Sandbloom a Southern California native, has been singing and writing songs since he was a very young man. Picking up a pair of drum sticks first, he would find at the age of 16 that the guitar was more suited to his smooth style.  His early inspiration came from artists like Bob Marley and The Specials, so naturally most of his first tunes were reggae inspired.  His musical horizons would be greatly broadened when he was introduced to the 70's recordings of Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone and later De La Soul and Sade. This soulful influx fused with those first island muses to create a warm, sexy sound that you would be hard pressed to confine to a genre.

This indefinable sound got the attention of several independent film makers and heavy hitters in the entertainment industry, landing him features on projects by Lawrence Fishburne and former Prince engineer, Susan Rogers as well as fronting a number of bands that received a large underground following. Though he has received several nods from major record labels, Kevin is enjoying the success of his independent label "Red Llama Music" and is currently on tour promoting his latest release "UNDER PINK AND BOURBON SKIES".
